Find Some Inspiration With These Dr. Oz Diet Plans

1. The Anti-Diet Diet Plan: Eliminating Reactive Foods
Dr. Oz is not afraid to showcase controversial guests and ideas, like those of author Lyn-Genet Recitas, who claims that losing weight is not about calories, but just eating the right foods. Her book The Plan is all about how you need to eat the foods that your body digests best. To learn more about this anti-diet plan, check out The Dr. Oz Show
2. Low-Calorie Fasting
Dr. Oz reported on low-calorie fasting in 2015, a diet trend that’s part of the larger intermittent fasting philosophy. The goal is to limit yourself to 1,000 calories or less per day, for just five days a month. A still-relevant and interesting diet, it’s been associated with increased fat loss, more stamina, and an ability to break through old diet and exercise plateaus.
3. Swap One Daily Meal For A Protein Shake
A 2014 guest of The Dr. Oz Show named Amanda told audiences how she replaces one meal a day with a chocolate-whey protein drink that has unsweetened almond milk, bananas, and peanut-butter. Sticking to that, along with meal-planning, helped her lose 110 lbs before appearing on the show.
4. Double Your Consumption Of Alkaline Foods
A few years ago, Dr. Oz had one guest expert on the show named Dr. James Rosser Jr. who explained that chasing acidic foods with alkaline foods can reduce acid reflux. His recommendation was to have your daily intake alkaline foods—dark leafy greens, beans, etc.— double that of acidic foods to help reduce acid reflux.
5. The Plant-Based Diet
On one episode of The Dr. Oz Show, Mehmet had on co-host of The Howard Stern Show, Robin Quivers to explain her plant-based diet. We are more than familiar with the whole-food plant-based diet, and its miraculous effects, as it’s the staple of our original series The Big Fat Truth.
6. The Paleo Diet
Fitness authors and power couple Melissa Hartwig & Dallas Hartwig came on the show to discuss the ever-trendy paleo diet—also known as the caveman diet. Paleo dieters basically strip their diets down to grass-produced meat, fish, and veggies, to get lean. Melissa Hartwig is also the creator of the Whole30 diet.
